Seriously anoyed as hell right now. Since like,I dunno, 9 PM tonight, I have had severe (and I do mean severe) upper abdominal pain. Off and on. Comes and goes. Its NOT contractions. It feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife amd just dragging it across. I think it feels like food poisoning or something, but Im not puking and I dont have diarrhea. Its kept me up almost all night. Husband offered to take me to the hospital earlier, but I said no. What the heck could it be??? I ate all the same things as everyone else in my house today and they are all fine. **EDIT: I *DO* have diarrhea now as of 5 AM almost 😳**

first thing that comes to mind is your gallbladder. it's located right dead in the middle underneath your sternum. it feels like you have heart burn 10x worse the pain will wake you up at night, its that bad. but you said it feels like food poisoning witch that's how I describe contractions. it feels like you got a really bad case of food poisoning enough to take your breath away. if you don't think it's contractions then check your gallbladder at you Dr appointment next time. idk that's the only 2 things I could think of.

@nati86, I do seem to have a ton more heartburn than normal this past few nights. Ive actually thrown it up into my mouth (sorry, I know its gross) and I have had a few different occurances over the past couple months where the pain has woken me and its been very similar to this. How could my OB check my gallbladder? I wouldnt have to go to a GI dr for that?

it feels like you have 1000 bricks on your chest along with acid burning feeling. Google gallbladder symptoms and compare see if its similar to what your feeling. the pain gets worse as the days go on.

It could be reflux though. Bananas are natural antacids. I eat them constantly. Good luck!

I had the same problem a couple weeks ago and I thought I was going to die. It almost felt like a cracked rib and it hurt to move. Turns out it was gas pain. I have had gas pain before but never like that.
