We had the same problem with my son but he stayed and I left without him. That was really hard on me as a new mom. My mom suggested that I keep him close to sunlight that would help keep his bilirubin numbers down. My poor baby was under lights for a week and he had low blood sugar they had to poke his little ankles every 2 hours.
