Technically you can, but most tattoo artists won't because as said ^ you can get infections easier, and your body will take longer to heal being as your immune system is working of growing an entire new human.
you can it's your decision you just have to take a lot of precautions. also. not many tattoos artist will do them but if you can find one by all means go ahead but make sure you get to see them get new needles and that everything is sterile

Its not the ink that's bad, its your healing that is slower and also prone to infection
