Have any of you soon to be moms or already moms looked at any breast feeding bottles? I want to do both with my last two babies it was pure horror trying to breast feed with the nurses pushing it at the hospital so I've been looking at bottles that imitate the breast I really liked the breastflow ones but its been almost 2 years since I've had them or used them and now I'm having a hard time finding them in store. Do you have any suggestions? I want to try this on my own with out the nurses being pushy about it.
@danikag, you should just have to dampen the flat part slightly and situate the nipple part over your nipple. it will create like a suction (in a sense) and won't really move once baby is latched on. when I fit started using them, I had to hold it in place until l.o. latched on right and then I would let it go and we had no problems.
I have a medela that I used with my last pregnancy and I love it but I'm hoping I'm able to breastfeed which of course if I can't I'll pump I tried a nipple shield as well but I don't know how to use it lol @mamamj
@danikag, if you have a target near you, you should look near the breast pumps and find a nipple shield. I have used these with both of my kids so far and it helps immensely. I use medela, but there are other brands as well.
@_akgirl, I did and it still wasn't big enough I actually think the nipples on the breastflow bottles are bigger then mine
@danikag, have you tried pinching your nipple first? "getting it hard" if you will.
the problem with me is how big the nipples are on the bottles they don't resemble mine at all my nipple is really flat and when I tried to breastfeed my other two they had a really hard time because they couldn't latch on good enough @marskhaos @santistevanmommie @their.bomb.ass.mom @mamamj @_akgirl
My breastfed daughter will only take tommee tippee and the avent ones. She's super particular on her bottles and binkies
I was looking at the tommee tippee ones and the nipple seemed to big to me I liked the size of the nipple on the breatflow ones because they were small and somewhat mimiced mine I don't like the avent ones for that reason as weel
I liked the Tommee Tippee ones, I didn't get to breastfeed but they were supposesly good for mimicking a the natural feel of a breast.
I used breastflow with my first and I hated them - they leaked and there were too many pieces to keep track of. He hated them as well. With our daughter, I used MumiJumi, it was nice and only one part to keep track of as far as the nipple. this little one, IIA going to try Como Tomo silicone bottles. they are squishy silicone.
@mamamj, thank you I will try those too.
