My daughter has a lot of mucus in one of her eyes. She did after she was born, but they said it's normal but to keep an eye on it. It cleared up, but now it's all snotty again. Her doctors office is closed because of new years and I don't want to drag her into the ER unless I absolutely have to since it's flue season and she's only a week old. Any ideas on what it could be? I've been keeping it cleaned off with a wet washcloth because if I didn't her eye would glue shut, but it just keeps coming back.

My son had the same thing the Dr. gave me some medican to put in his eye. but it has to be subscribed by a Dr. but don't worry its just a little eye infection but you may want to go to a Dr. care if the have one where you live so you can get some.

it could be a clogged tear duct i would just wipe it out and gently massage the tear duct

my son just had that same problem. he is a month old. we took him to the ER the other night and they said it was a blocked tear duct. they suggested to wipe his eye and occasionally hold a warm wash cloth over the eye and it worked. my son is all better now! hope your little one's eye clears up soon!
