So yesterday Brenda got her 2 month shots. We were warned that she might develop a slight fever. The doctor said if it got to 101+ to go in right away. So at 11pm last night Jon and I took Brenda to St. Johns hospital to get checked out. When we arrived they took her temp and it was 101 after they got us into the room they informed us that we would be transferred to Children's Hospital in St. Paul due to them being understaffed and not equipped to care for her the way they would like. Children's hospital wanted them to start antibiotics, take blood, and a urine sample. She was poked and paraded for about 2 hours at least that's what it felt like to me because she was crying so bad and I couldn't do anything. After they took all the blood we had to wait for her to pee in order to get her antibiotics going to figure out what spiked her fever. It was at 3am we finally were able to get her antibiotics going. That's when they called the ambulance to come pick us up to transfer to Children's they took her temp before leaving St. Johns and her temp was 99.9. We arrived at Children's at about 4am. We got into the room and they were checking all of her vitals and her temp then was 98.9 thankfully going down might I add. After sitting there for about 2 hours our doctor came in and said everything looks good and we are able to go home. We just have to keep an eye on her so her temp doesn't rise again. So we got home about 6:30 and she has been sleeping ever since. All the results from the labs they got last night were all normal and now we are just waiting to get results back from the test that take a couple days. Thank you to everyone who prayed for her and us last night. Definitely not the easiest thing to do when you child is sick and crying and you can't do anything but try and comfort them.
