@callumsmommy, that's bull crap. small framed people give birth vaginally all the time. don't let them slice you open like that unless there is real medical need. you deserve the chance to try for a vaginal delivery.
@callumsmommy, during labor and even before your body creates a hormone that loosens your joints and allows your pelvis to spread in a way it normally wouldnt. I have a friend who was 95 lbs when she got pregnant that had her baby vaginally just fine. unless your bp goes thru the roof or baby heart rate goes into decels or your baby will not and can not be turned head down then there is no medical reason. they should at least let you try. too many drs do unnecessary c sections. they should at least give your body the chance to do what it's made to do.
@callumsmommy, I had 2 C-sections. I'm 4'11, 120 lbs before pregnancy.. My OB did tell me there was a greater chance I'd have to get one with my height and frame size... With my first I was 18, scared to death of labor, I was induced 3 days after my due date. after 20 hrs in labor.. I only dilated to 7CM. He was stuck in my canal. At 2AM I went in for an emergency C-section. I delivered a 8lbs 15oz baby boy. 2 years an 10 months later I had a repeat CSECTION with another 8lb baby. lol I'll be having another repeat March 21st. It's honestly not that bad if you have to get one. I was so nervous both times, but they both went smoothly and very fast. They cut an have the baby out within 4 minutes. Goodluck to you!!
@callumsmommy, They should give you time to be able to do it yourself.. I waited almost 24 hours! C-section recovery is a pain, but as long as the baby is safely delivered.
I felt absolutely nothing the whole time. I was induced an given an epidural first set of contractions after they broke my water.. @callumsmommy labor can last soo long though... I know people that were to exhausted to push the babies heart rate dropped an thats an emergency csection.. My 2nd C Section I went in at noon, prepped an he was delivered at 3:30PM.
