I'm a "pro-vaxx" mother, but I honestly think it's entirely up to the parent. I can't make anyone do anything to/for their children, that's their choice.
I'm "pro choice" when it comes to vaccines. Due to a reaction at 4 months, we are doing a slower spaced out schedule. I think it's a little hypocritical of this "ped" to post that she doesn't want "measles shedding children" sitting in her waiting area when 1) just because a child is not vaxxed for measles doesn't mean they're a carrier and 2) there are vaccines that shed....including mmr....
I vaccinate but I do spread them out. Not because I want to do others harm but because each of my kids has had some pretty severe reactions to the shots being bundled. I think as long as they are getting the shots in a timely matter it shouldn't be all or nothing. Each child is different and does not always react to the vaccinations the same.
this isn't a post to start drama or who for anyone to debate which side is right or wrong...I just don't like the tone of this pediatrician. you can't force anyone to vaccinate....that's the point. @paige1212
Just talk to the pediatrician and explain your concerns and that you'd like them to help you set up a schedule of vaccinations that help reduce the reactions. They have individual shots or smaller bundles. @jgarciamua

My son isn't vaccinated and I won't vaccinate this one either...all he had to say was he doesn't see unvaccinated children, all of that was a bit much lol
I totally agree. it was rude and unnecessary...threatening to call cps, and calling unvaccinated children 'measles shedding" is going too damn far. @bianca_rose

I totally agree. I feel it's too abrasive a message, makes him sound Iike an asshole. you can't force vaccines on anyone

Also it's not on my vaccinate schedule but what the pediatrician had recommended for each kid.
