At 17 they may still ask for an ID since most have their permit by that time or if not the dmv makes IDs. I'm really not sure, my husband is a prison guard and I know that's way different. When he worked for the jail it was honestly stricter. 😞. But you could always just go for it and see. I hope you get to see him! @newmommy051016

Where my dad is, you cannot visit unless you're with a legal guardian or immediate relative if you're under the age of 18. So I would call and check in. I really hope you get to him!
