Is it ok that my newborn (about 2 weeks) sleeps for a 7 hour stretch at night?

Some people say I should wake him every 2-3 hours to feed him, but others say if he's sleeping let him sleep!!!

He eats really good before bed(about 12) then sleeps until about 6 or 7!

the only reason i would wake a baby to eat at night is if they have jaundice if not then let him sleep, he won't let himself starve! you're lucky!

Its whatever youre comfortable with. I used to wake my son every 3 hours if he didnt wake up on his own but I was just paranoid about him not eating enough.

As long as he's eating well during the day and having plenty of wet diaps let him sleep :)

Than he's good! As long as he's gaining weight.

Trigger. Our precious boy

Trigger. Our precious boy Last night, December 8th, 2015, at 9:58pm, our sweet precious baby boy was born sleeping. We spent 5 wonderful hours with him: holding him, talking to him, singing to him, mourning him, praying for him, and weeping over him.

So my doctor says I have to start putting the baby in his crib at night and letting him cry it out when he wakes for a bottle. She says he should be sleeping 10-12 hours at a time by now (he only sleeps about 2-3 hours before he wakes wanting a bottle or pacifier). She swears if we do this it won't take more than 3 nights for him to adjust and start sleeping better. She says that he should only get 1-2 naps a day too and we should lay him down at night as soon as he starts showing signs of being sleepy like rubbing his eyes, not waiting until he's exhausted. - I just don't know if I can do it, letting him cry at night.. I just don't know. Has anyone else done this?
