We just use stockings for St. Nick's.

You mean Xmas stockings? When I was a kid, we had to sleep and when we woke up there was a stocking stuffed to the brim outside of each bedroom door. At exactly 7 we were allowed to grab them and go to my parents room (the only time we were allowed there) and sit on their big bed (there were a lot of us kids) and open them. After everyone was done we went to the tree for big presents

Not all the kids here believe in Santa so we kinda use them as a little code system. =) I love their faces when they get excited about the little trinkets and treats!

@tayek, That's so cute! When I was a kid if we woke up and the stocking was at the foot of our bed it meant Santa had come and if it wasn't there then we knew he hasn't come yet. My brother and I would always wake the other one up and we'd open them together and then wake up our parents to open gifts. We don't have any children around (yet) but we always start with opening stockings first.

I like that @rebcamdot We were the same! 😄 I love preserving little bits of the holiday magic. I think we were as excited about the stockings as we were for our presents!

@tayek, I do too! We were just talking about how both of our moms refused to ever say Santa wasn't real even when we persisted and we loved that growing up! Our moms still sign some of the gifts under the tree from Santa too. ❤️
