I'm just 6 weeks. she didn't even try for the heartbeat. she said they don't do that till 8 weeks. but I was measuring exactly 6 weeks. @ahauge6 and the baby could be hiding but then scared the crap out of me with the fact that 1 and 4 people miscarriage and we will see in 2 weeks

My first pregnancy I was 5 weeks and it was only a sac. They did see the heartbeat though. They were surprised because it was so early. It's different with everyone.

They don't want to see you until at least 8 weeks if they can help it for exactly this reason- moms freak out that something is wrong when it's just too early to see anything. Be patient. And remember stress can hurt the baby especially this early.

Okay well that was messed up of her. No dr should ever say that unless there's actual cause to say that and there's not. My dr flat out refused to see me until 8 weeks and I've had another dr say that they don't want to see women until 8 weeks because they can't see anything or a heartbeat because it's too early. You should switch Drs after the next ultrasound because that's wrong.

Okay well that makes the comment that much worse! That's an awful thing to say and it's clearly inaccurate. You'd be bleeding if you had a miscarriage and it's common knowledge you can't see a heart beat then. I'm sorry you had such an arrogant dr doing your scan.

Exactly! There was no reason for her to say that when I went at 6w2d and we only saw the yolk sac a week and some change later we saw baby and heartbeat.

That was my first ultrasound with just yolk sac
