It's fairly common to experience vaginal swelling during pregnancy. There's a lot of extra blood flow to the area while pregnant.

@coraanne, yeah I figured as much but the soreness is what has me mostly concerned.

I had the same thing with me. I thought it was def an infection or some sort of long term medication treated for it to go away and not come back! Mine was itchy too. Really really itchy which made the redness/swelling way worse. Super uncomfortable. mine went away after like 2 1/2 weeks or so I just kept an eye on it and made sure to take extra care down there to prevent it from turning into an infection or something else. I didn't go to the dr though so unfortunately I have no idea what it was

I would swell up so painfully after intercourse. Every time. :/

@olivergrayson_may16 I have a doctor's appointment in a couple days and he has to do cultures so I'm sure he'll tell me if it's fine or not @taija I'm just swollen in general which does not help when it comes to sex.. makes it worse 😩

because of the swelling your underwear and pants rub more which causes the soreness. I had the issues towards the end of my pregnancy. my doctor looked at it and told me it is the normal swelling do to pregnancy. there's not much you can do. but I would sit on ice packs and dermoplast spray was my best friend before and after giving birth.

Yeah I don't think there's much to do except ride it out keep it clean and be careful with sex because it did make me really painful and sensitive after @taija

There's a ligament there underneath that area too that can cause soreness. Should go back to normal after birth. Only thing you can really do till then is Tylenol and ice packs.

With pregnancy, it's more likely that you can get a bacterial infection down there, it's due to the change in chemicals. I had one just a month ago I was swollen and red and itchy, the dr gave me some antibiotics for a week and it went away.... If it causes pain, I suggest sitting on ice and sleeping without panties...

@mrshumphries I had an infection around 19 weeks and it was awful, ended up in the hospital because I was so uncomfortable and in pain. There's no itching or anything so I think I just might be ok, my doctor Thursday will let me know. I would love to sleep without panties on but unfortunately my hubby is too horny haha and with how far along I am there's too much (tmi) discharge.
