Full term is 39 weeks. Early term is 37 38 weeks. And yea it is safe to deliver but the baby should stay in as long as possibly. Even babies born at 38 weeks can have seriously undeveloped lungs and nobody wants that

They've recently changed it saying 37-38 is early term and 39 is full term, but my dr told me once I hit 37 I was full term. So I guess it varies on the dr.

Okay! @mrsschutte1323 :) I was just curious because I see alot of mom's trying to induce themselves at 37 or 38 and my doctor was telling me that it would be safe to deliver at 37. just kinda curious is all.

37 weeks is deemed safe to deliver, but it's considered early term. Full term is 39-40 weeks I believe, and then after that is late term.

same. my doc said if I had her right now, at 37 weeks, she would be healthy. but edd are estimates and can be off up to two weeks so its best to give birth at 39 weekss
