Probably not but I'm not really sure. You just lay in the bed with two bands on your belly. Nothing should cause labor. It's very relaxed hence the name non stress test lol. It's not meant to induce labor or put stress on the baby, just see how he's doing.

@reesiesmommy, my doctor told me I had to have at least 3 contractions ice already went into early labor and they had to give me a shot to stop it. Will this test cause to go into labor again?

It can take from about 20 minutes to an hour and a half. Depends on if your babe cooperates or not.

They put two monitors on your belly to watch the baby's movement, heart rate, and contractions and they also give you a button to push when you feel the baby move. They might have you drink some ice water or sugary juice to get your little one moving!
