can you have someone who isn't your baby father sign the birth certificate?
I just left my sons blank.. his stepdad signed a paternity deceleration later when his biological dad didn't want to step up.. they didn't ask for a test because he said he didn't need one.. now we're not together and he's having to pay child support.. he doesn't fight it though.. says that's his son to the end..
the one you put on the birth certificate will have to pay child support. the biological father would have to take you and the person on the birth certificate to court to get his name remove and put his on there. it's a pain in the ass because my friend is going through it but it can happen. just really think about who you want on that birth certificate. now if the birth dad completely signs over all rights to the baby than their is nothing he can do anymore. Hope this helps and good luck ((:
The person who signs would be considered the legal father...and would be so unless a blood test states he isn't and if he isn't he has to go through court to be removed off the birth certificate. I'm sure the person on the birth certificate of the one who pays the child support if you were to put him on it
You aren't supposed to put a father on the birth certificate if they aren't the real father. Unless you are married, they make you raise your right hand and swear in front of a notary that the person you listed is in fact the biological father. Leave it blank and if the real father wants to relinquish his rights to the child then let him. Your new partner can take over an legally adopt your child through the court. If the biological father doesn't want rights then he won't have to pay child support
