For gender if your wanting to see baby's features 30-34 weeks is best

Most 3D places want you to be at least 15weeks

I think it's best to wait for 3D if you're paying for it lol. I got more at 26 weeks and u could see what his face looks like! But I think just a regular ultrasound can tell the gender between 15 and 17

I want to say I voted mine done at 20-23 ish weeks with my first because they had trouble finding her kidneys . she was fine though.

I got 3D done around 17 weeks. They say u can tell the gender around 15 weeks. But as for the 3D.. You can't really see much. The baby still isn't formed enough to clearly see their faces or body parts
