girl PREACH!!! I don't get it my husband doesn't and nimeither do our kids. every time I've gotten it I got sick. my son is 3 and my daughter 1.5 and they have never and will never get it.

the flu shot doesnt make you have the flu. its not a live form.

@mommabear3cubs, girl these people bout to make me go into labor with all their stressing and threats. Me and my son don't get it but my husband does but that's his own choice.

if you got sick its because you were already going to get sick. it take 3-5 days to show symptoms after you catch a virus.

@_stayingparkerstrong_, I didn't say 'it gives me the flu' I said there is a reason I don't. As in it makes me sick AF and I get red patches.

I told my dr not to ask me again and if anyone did I would switch to a new practice. I was tired of the lectures.

my Dr asks me every time I go in if I want it tell my last app and I let her know why I will not ever get it... my father almost gets put in the hospital every time he gets it and I don't want to risk being the same or my babies being the same as him... I know others that get really sick from it also and I have never gotten it so why would I start now... with my daughter I was pregnant and working at a nursing home they offered it to me there also and I said no thank you I was just fine my entire pregnancy with her and I was around people that got the flu I just made sure I was not in close contact with them and I eat citrus fruit every day and or had oj every day

I thought about the flu shot but I've never had one and then the nurse at the hospital told me that they basically just guess which strain they'll give the vaccine for every year, and after that I was like.... they literately guess.... just guess...

The flu shot is extremely important for children, pregnant women, those with weakened immune systems, and the elderly... The shot is inactivated viruses so you can't get the flu from it. The nasal spray form does contain live virus BUT the virus is weakened and can't survive the warm temp in your lungs. I don't get it every year but I made sure to get it during pregnancy to protect both me and my unborn child.

@mercy475, yes they guess at which strains will be the strongest for each year. This years shot has 2 new strains with more of the other strains. My doctor told me they guess every year.

I've never had a flu shot and it doesn't make me feel very reassuring know they just guess @lilanne1927

I'm not risking it ever again.
