Is that California law?

I'm not sure about California, I know it's happening in Texas and Florida. @39surp I haven't researched it much, just looked at a Texas article and my dad and fiancé are pumped about it. lol. S

I just turned 21, so I will definitely be getting my license soon...

I have been looking into it for some time. I've wanted to get one but haven't had the time to take the class. I think it's a great way to protect your family as long as the guns are kept safe and the kids a) know what they are and not to use them and b)learn to properly use one when they are old enough to handle the responsibility. As long as your responsible about it I say go for it. Lots of dangerous people in the world today.

I also live in Nebraska though so all I have to do it take/pass the certified class and purchase a license. Already have 2 handguns, a shotgun, and a rifle.

I don't think it's California. I was just thinking about this this morning. Ugh we just need to move toTexas lol!

In Michigan you can open carry anywhere except schools and government buildings. I cc everyday. My kids are aware of the safety concerns and have even done gun safety. They are older too.

@cmbwalker, I'd really like for my future father in law to teach classes, I think he's thinking about it so I'm just waiting. lol. My fiancé has at least 5 handguns, and 3 rifles. He had a shotgun but gave it to my dad. He wants to buy me a hand gun that I feel comfortable with, I haven't even sat and thought about it.

@39surp, I really want to say California is a gun free zone, honestly but I'm probably wrong. You can probably conceal your weapon but not open carry.

We have a few guys locked in a gun safe. Husband has his cc and he wants me to get mine after baby is born. We live in Wisconsin and pheasant hunt. Delicious.

@alexinwonderland, never had pheasant, sounds interesting. My fiancé has his hunting license for dove and deer. Wild hogs are free to kill without a license. Although my fiancé and dad still haven't gotten a deer, my fiance has been working 10 days in a row now. And my dad goes with my loud ass brother in law. You can hear that man from 500 miles away.

Lol your BIL is scaring off the deer. Pheasant is delicious if you do it right, it can be tough and/or gamey.

@alexinwonderland, he really is. My uncle had a deer in his scope and was waiting for him your come out of the brush and my BIL was like nope. And took the shot, said he got him, no he didnt. there was no blood trail.

My grandpa lives in Wisconsin, maybe my family and I can make a trip up there and try.

I want to get my concealed weapons liscense when I was 5 is when i was taught how to shot and that guns are weapons for protection and to feed yourself/family my children will be taught the same my guns are locked at my parents because i live in an apartment complex with out a gun safe my dad has 2 one has his guns and the other has mine his my moms and sisters guns i also know how to use a bow and arrow along with other weapons

@boogersbugsanddirt, I really want to learn how to bow hunt next summer. I've been practicing archery for quite some time, but I hear hunting with a bow is insanely different.

I feel the same as you girl. Right after this baby comes I am getting my license. Was going to sooner but then I got pregnant and decided to wait.

me and my husband plan to get out licenses i definitely want a handgun it's safe where I live but I don't trust that
