Ladies I really need help. My son is almost 2 weeks old but he's not eating much. Through out the day he'll eat about 15-20 min then fall asleep and I can't get him to wake back up no matter what I do. Then around 3am its like he's suddenly starving cause he gets all fussy. He'll feed off me but then he pushes off me and fights me and he'll still be hungry because when I put him down he'll suckle. I stayed up all night trying to get him to eat. I decided to just give him to my mom and let her supplement him with formula while I slept. But she just barely told me he didn't even eat it. So it's been 8 hours I'm feeding him right now but he's still not eating much. Idk what to do. I'm scared he's going to get dehydrated. Has anyone else had this problem? His poop is still yellow and he pees just fine. And when he does eat I hear him taking big gulps(first few minutes on each side) .. I just fear he's still not getting enough. It shouldn't be this hard to get him to eat..

If he's having at least six pee diapers a day then he's perfectly fine and there isn't anything to worry about. My daughter is 2 months old and has always slept a lot and not ate much since birth and she's perfectly healthy. Their stomachs are really small so a little goes a long way!

@queendavis Yeah he pees a lot. I just hope that's the case with him because this is giving me really bad anxiety. I don't wanna fail him already

Honestly girl it sounds to me like he's all good and eating/peeing just fine :) it's really normal for babies to do that at young ages. If you're worried and need reassurance just call his dr and ask them! 😊

sounds like he's doing what he needs to do the first few weeks will be hard baby's tummy is about the size of an egg if not smaller which I'm sure so when he eats hell gets full fast have you introduced him to the paci??

@bbyluvbump101 when we were in the hospital they tried to give it to him. He wasn't interested

I wish my son wasn't eating as much as he is! 2 weeks old & is eating about 3.5oz every 3 hours. I pump & use a bottle so my mom can help me.
