why is it that when you set boundaries for a child and they break those boundaries, you are still the bad guy for dishing out consequences? I'm dealing with pre-teens here 😩 they know what is expected but their whole world falls apart when they break the rules and I'm the worst person in the world. I'm"step mom" BTW so that could have something to do with it. I just told my stepson that since he doesn't respect me I'm not going to have respect for him....when he decides to be respectful, then I'll change too. he ran upstairs to his room crying.... I feel bad but I don't think I was wrong. Do you think I was unfair? just want to have an outside opinion...

yes I understand that I don't think I was wrong but I just hate feeling like I've pushed him further away because they live with us full time and their delinquent mother does no wrong in their eyes but I'm evil...@mommyof10627, @axtons_mommy

В ожидании первенца
When I was a pre-teen all the way up until 18 I was quite a disrespectful and stubborn child for the most part. When I turned 18, I started skipping classes and I was dating a drug dealer. It was really bad. My Mom and Dad kicked me out of the house. I bounced from house to house for a month and a half until I finally had nowhere else to go. They didn't let me back in their house though; they bought me a tent and I slept in it in my backyard until I graduated and had a job. I couldn't come in the house unless they were there. They got a lot of shit for it, but if they hadn't done that I would probably be in jail right now or possibly dead. SO JUST SAYING: when they turn 18…this works. LOL
