Heading home. Contractions are 10 minutes apart. I'm not dilated at all. Going on the longest walk of my life tomorrow. Baby girl is on her way out, but my body is being stubborn. What can I do to dilate quickly? I'm in so much pain it's ridiculous.

They can sweep your membranes and that will stretch your cervix and help you dilate quicker than normal but from personal experience, if your body isn't ready, it won't help. I walked around at 5 cm for a week with contractions on and off. I think if I had just let nature take its course, I wouldn't have hated the last little bit of being pregnant quite so much!

@mommabird My doctor isn't going to help me. He already said he won't step in until I'm 41 weeks. Which is another reason why I need to dilate quicker.

I know how long the last little bit can seem but just remember your body knows what it's doing! Your baby may need a little while longer in there. Or maybe your body is progressing slowly so you will have an easier labor. After it's over you won't even be thinking about the last week :)
