How old is your daughter? i wanna get my daughters ears pierced but she's only 2 months old. i want to get them done now cuz i heard the earlier you get them done the better cuz then they wont try to play with them or pull on their ears, but my fiance insists we wait so she can decide for herself if she wants to get them done but i really don't want to do that. so I'm making him ask his mom what she thinks we should do; which i think she will take my side for this which ill be super happy for cuz i would love to be able to get them done before Xmas - kinda like a Xmas gift for her...

@gracie0922, My daughter is 2 months old and 2 months is the earliest you can get them done. Yes some people may call it torture but others think it's better when they're younger so that the pain only last a few minutes plus they can't snatch away and risk tearing their lobe while getting it done. I have gotten all 4 of my daughters ears pierced no later than 6 months old and I've never had a problem doing so. I also think that if you do it while their a couple months old then they won't be able to mess with them or try to take them out. It would suck to have them pulled out and then you would have to get them done again but wait longer. So speaking from experience and as a mother who's seen for many years all the other moms who've also pierced their babies ears before they were a year old, it's perfectly ok to do 😊

i know that's exactly what i keep telling my fiance but he wont listen. i almost feel like just taking her and getting ears pierced myself but i know if I do that he'll be super pissed off at me and it will lead to a huge fight and i HATE fighting with him.

@gracie0922, Don't go without his consent if it's going to cause you two to argue. Try talking to your baby's doctor about it and if they say it's ok then mention it to your husband and see if he changes his mind. After all if there isn't any medical reasons why she shouldn't get them pierced then he shouldn't be worrying. Dad's get to make most of the decisions for their sons, why can't us moms enjoy making these kind of decisions for our daughters? It's not like we're doing anything harmful to our babies even though ear piercings do hurt but only for a few minutes and then they're a tad bit sore for a few days. It doesn't even bother the baby anymore after a few minutes, you just have to clean them twice a day with alcohol and be careful not to rub or tug them until they're completely healed which can take up to 2-4 weeks if you clean them properly and daily. I wish your husband wouldn't worry so much, even he would be happy with the results. Try to come up with a way to change his mind before you do it and even if you decide to do it without his ok, trust me he will be fine once he see that it doesn't bother her and how much cuter she looks with her new jewelry
