now I'm being told i don't need a hospital bag. like what am i suppose to have..... like really.

I would pack one anyway. you will need some things.

I'd pack socks, phone charger, tablet and charger if you have one, books, head phones, black undies, toothbrush, toiletries, outfit for baby, snacks..

In my experience the hospital provides you with a gown, socks, a flimsy comb, nasty tooth paste a huge toothbrush some cheap shampoo/ body wash. Yeah I would definitely bring my own stuff along with clothes to leave in and outfits for baby's first pics. Also charger and electronics that you want.

You'll need things and it's easier to pack a bag than to have somebody go get them afterwards... Don't forget Chapstick!

I would! When went it to have my second they where out of pillows because everyone else decided to have their baby on the same day too lol. You are gonna want some stuff from home. Chapstick, hair accessories, phone charger, nipple cream and pads, a good comfy nursing bra, I also brought my own nightgown to feel more comfortable, shower flip flops and slippers
