laugh and tell her she's only embarrassing herself not me that she better get some act right or she won't get dessert after dinner.(she's only one so she understands no dessert lol)

yes, they thought they were safe in public because I have made the mistake of getting embarrassed and giving in to them once but I quickly learned my lesson. they still test me in public every now and then just to see what I will do....even my 11 year olds. with my 5 year old I get down to eye level with him and tell him that he will have a consequence once we leave the store and if he does not behave immediately, then we can leave the store now for him to receive this consequence. (yes I have had to leave the store right away because he did not believe me) my oldest will push me sometimes, I have taken away everything they own to prove a point and refuse to bring them back with me a few times. they don't really throw tantrums but they get attitudes if you know what I mean. my mother in law doesn't mind boring them to death while I shop if I need her to lol.

my son tried it once when we were in walmart when he was 4..he is 5 now but i tore that ass up in walmart. he knows right from wrong and got mad because he couldnt get a toy he wanted. he doesnt act out in public anymore. they know i will spank them i dont care where we are at. my mom beat my ass when i was younger and im ok. i grew up with respect and some act right. my children get the same.

I never gave them the attention they were seeking. If it was over something they wanted and I had said no we took a trip to the restroom. Never had to spank them though but that was the purpose to the restroom and they just learned if it ever got that far they were in big trouble and they would stop as soon as I mention taking them.

Negative. My daughter learned from EARLY on mommy dont play that! Never had an embarrassing moment in public or in private in front of family. Ever!
