it's from ACOG recommendations pushing for uniform labeling and eliminating inductions with no medical indication before 39 weeks. change stemmed from research results of neonatal outcomes esp. respiratory functioning of early term infants
Its always been that way with everyone I know, babies are considered very "viable" at 37 weeks, and they're pretty much good to go, but it's still considered early. I thought everyone went by that until recently getting on here and seeing some women call 37 weeks full term.
