so I am a disabled military vet, got hurt in service to the point where when I walk I have to use a cane. it has gotten worse on my knee adding the extra pregnancy weight but I don't let it stop me from doing what I love. but when I'm walking around a craft store and you give me a dirty look and make a comment saying "these damn kids faking being hurt just to get sympathy" I can hear you. my hearing wasn't broken, my kneecap was. don't comment on an injury you don't know about.

I am sorry to hear such things, I really wish more people where inclined to care for one another instead of being so quick to judge a situation they don't understand. just know there are people out here that are greatful for your service.

I bet, especially after what you went through for there freedom. some people just never grow up. keep your head high girl. Next time maybe just casually say something like you wouldn't say that if you knew my story. Or ask them not to judge before they know the truth. if you must say anything. sometimes it's just better to be the bigger person. even though it's hard.

My husband had a machine gun backfire in his face now he has to wear an eye patch. he also blew out his knee in jump school. teenagers and even sometimes adults like to shout or even whisper pirate jokes or say arg. or just stare and point. it's ridiculous. and I'm sorry you have had to go through this.
