This is my 2nd pregnancy my first is 5 I had a c-section now I have the choice to have a c-section again or vaginal . I don't know what to do any thoughts ?
@babyhawkins2015, is it really? My doctor didn't even think twice about me trying for a vbac. They did mention that they won't induce if a vbac is wanted. I have a lot of scarring and since I was cut with a T shape this time I can't try for anymore vbacs
Try a vbac forsure! I just had my second by csection after a failed vbac and I'm really proud of myself for trying my daughters head was turned and she was in a weird position where she wouldn't come down after pushing for 2 hours.
@lizg915, If you're in Florida, it's one of the hardest states to allow a vbac. I had an emergency c section with my first.. I lived in Texas when I had my second and third and they allowed me vbacs... this is my forth, I live in Florida...all the Dr's at my practice had to have a conference to decide if they would allow me to do a vbac..... I was approved BUT only if she decided to come on her own. I just went to my 39 week check up today and my dr said next week we have to talk about scheduling a c section if she doesn't want to come on her own by 41 weeks.. they won't do any induction since there is uteran scarring from my c section which could cause uteran rupture that can potentially cause me or baby to die...yikes!
there are pros and cons with both but you should do what makes you comfortable, my oldest is 5 as well but i had a vaginal delivery with her and should be having a vaginal delivery this time as well
keep in mind if you choose to go with a c-section, being your 2nd one if you have another child later and you want to have a vaginal birth it will be real difficult- nearly impossible to find or convince a doctor to help you with a VBAC after 2 cesareans
I've done both ways, there are pros and cons to both. If I had the choice I would go naturally because the healing time is quicker and your baby pretty much never leaves your site, where as a c-section you have to wait till you get to your room before you see them
If I could do a vbac I would but my doc told me I have 10% chance of ever having a vaginal birth because how narrow my hips are so c section for me I really don't want it but at least I will know when it is
