Employers by law are supposed to allow time for mothers to pump while at work.

This is my first pregnancy but a couple friends of mine have to call their SOs and listen to the baby or take videos of therapy nursing to help with pumping. Idk if that's what you're worried about but I'm definitely going to try it!

@tmoschetti06, yes this is true, and they have a beautiful sitting area with privacy to pump for us, but I'm a nurse and usually short staffed. When I was pregnant I couldn't even make time to eat. I'm going to try my hardest to make the time, and just keep in mind its to give my daughter the food she needs...

@norcalmomma, I'm afraid of the whole supply/demand issue. I have no trouble with supply, usually pump 5 oz at a time and this is while breastfeeding. While I'm at work, she won't be breastfeeding, if I don't find the time to pump, mynbody will think she doesnt need it and start making less..

You're work has to give you time to pump. I'm no expert but I'm sure if you keep religiously pumping then you should be fine. It's what I'm told from friends and coworkers.

@mrsmoore, it took me 5 years. I was a single mom at the time and also had 2 full time jobs. I started doing my pre reqs for the program part time, that took 2 years. It was a 1 year waiting list and then The RN program was 2 years full time. It was one of the most exhausting, but best times of my life! Totally worth it! I'm into sub acute and medsurge but my favorite someday would be to be a wound care nurse...
