labor story: I went in to the hospital at 9:30p.m. on Sept 30 to be induced to have my little girl. they checked me in and started my iv and checked my cervix. I was only 1 cm at that time. they placed the pill in my cooch to soften my cervix and told me to rest as much as I could. bout three hours later I was having contractions that really hurt so they gave me pain meds. at 7:00 Oct 1 my doctor came in and broke my water. from there the contractions were really sharp so I asked for an epidural, which was planned anyway. from there on I was really loopy and don't remember much. they went to turn me on my side which caused my daughter to end up laying on the umbilical cord. her heart rate dropped and the nurses had to help me turn over. they flipped me multiple ways and wound up putting me on my hands and knees to get her off of it. they laid me back on my right side and things went pretty well afterwards but by about 2 in the afternoon the epidural stopped working so they came and fixed it. well it stopped again at 4:00 and I was dilated to a 9 1/2. they tried turning me on my left side again and as soon as they left the room I felt the need to push. we got them back in the room and I started pushing. 7 pushes later my beautiful little girl was born. 7 lbs 2 oz and 20 1/2 in long. She was perfect. :) we fell in love with her immediately and have loved her more with every passing day.
