Might be a little tmi.... but does anyone know how to get rid of hemorrhoids? I've been using witch hazel wipes and it helped a lot with the discomfort but they didn't go away and now I think I got another one that the wipes aren't doing anything for and I've been in a bit of pain for about 3 days now.

I've had them on and off for 10 + years. I got them in my last trimester with my first child. The only solution is surgery honestly they will typically always come back.

you can ask your doctor to prescribe something or get some over the counter cream

@foreveryoung247, @arijane316 definitely don't want to do surgery, I'll probably ask my doctor for something. My mom has had them since she was pregnant with me 23 years ago but she says they don't even bother her at all...

Yea it gets easier and depending on what you eat seems to affect them . @missyowl92

Cortisone cream works the best imo @missyowl92

@missyowl92, Have you tried soaking in an Epsom salt bath? Since it's an anti inflammatory it can definitely shrink them and give relief.

@rebcamdot, I thought about it but I wasn't sure if Epsom salt was safe or not... I don't want to end up with another infection...

@missyowl92, It's actually what my doctors recommended for hemorrhoids and general aches and pains. It's helped me so much! But of course you could always check with your doctor to be sure it's ok for you.

I've heard about coconut oil. You basically soak a cotton ball in the oil and place it there for a few hours, for a few days. It's supposed to help with pain & to make them go away. I've read that it's common to get them in pregnancy & delivery, so I plan to try it when I need it. I use coconut oil for many other things & really like it. Plus it's natural.

@rebcamdot, I googled it lol I'll probably pick some up as well as some cream. Did yours go away or just the pain?

@missyowl92, mine shrunk to the point that I barely notice it at all after about a week of baths and it definitely took away the pain. I hope it helps!
