First two kids, I spent three days, but that was 14 and 16 years ago. That used to be commonplace after a vaginal birth. My last two kids, I was only there for 24 hours. So, one night.
My daughter was born at 1:17 on a a Thursday. We were home that Saturday right after breakfast, maybe 11 am. You'd only stay longer for complications or a Cesarean.

My sister had her baby a week ago, and she stayed 48 hours after delivery, plus the one night we stayed while she was being induced
