I am so beyond angry. I call the doctor because my son has been constipated for 2 weeks. The only thing that will make him poop is a suppository. He is almost 3 months old. Mainly vreastfed but is given formula when i run out of milk. he has been given formula since october. He is crying bloody murder in pain, straining and cant go on his own. the on call nurse said she thinks he should get checked out but she was going to have the on call doctor call us first. so the on call doctor calls and asks what we need. i tell her whats happening and she says (all in a rude tone mind you) "well it says here that you want to know if you can use a suppository?" i tell her no, we want to know what to do because we have done everything possible and he will not poop on his own. she responds with "well hes 2 months old. he doesnt know how to coordinate how to poop yet".... i couldn't believe what i heard. She proceeds in telling me to give him apple juice and talk to regular doctor. and to continue with the suppository. what she wasnt understanding was that he will not go unless he has a suppository! he is in pain and everything. i finally ask her if its okay to give him one then every time hes crying and in pain from it. and she says "well you shouldnt have to give him one everyday when hes crying, he doesnt need to poop that much." i dont know what to do. i want to scream and cry. something doesnt feel right and it just doesnt seem like these doctors care anymore.
