Just a little rant... I HATE when mothers or mothers-in-law assume the younger mothers don't know how to tend to babies or that they'll be lazy. My aunt (I have VERY overbearing aunties) just INVITED herself to take care of everything at my house when Ajani is born because "young moms don't know what taking care of a baby involves! They need an experienced hand to teach them."
I like guidance. Love good advice. I WELCOME any sound, well-founded tips because I know a lot but I don't know everything. But uh...I raised my 9 year old ALONE from the time she was born til I got married. Never left her anywhere overnight, never depended on anyone but myself or her father (he isn't a deadbeat BUT we weren't together after she was 4 months old) for what she needed. My husband and I ARE a bit rusty in the newborn care department, but we're NOT inept. 😧

im dealing with that now with my mother in law. like our 5 and 6 yr old we raised by ourselves. now all of a sudden she wants to be grandmother of the year and come in and "teach me how to raise kids." girl i snapped.

I'm sooo close to hurting her feelings. My daughter's a great kid--she's healthy, happy, intelligent, and polite! I'm pretty sure if I could manage that on my own, then my son will be that good or better with two parents!

I can totally relate.
