There is still a lot of blood flow down there, especially because you're trying to heal. Yes, it's completely normal. I didn't have an episiotomy and my whole area hurt for a couple weeks.

I had to have a c section but I pushed for two and a half hours and my sons head like an inch from coming out and my lady parts hurt and were swollen for a couple weeks so I cant imagine how it would be for a natural birth with an episiotomy

ugh the aftermath is defly painful...I tore and was cut but it was defly worth it... I just wish I wasn't so swollen

how long should I bleed after? because I never really stopped since I left the hospital... does it go from bleeding from the birth straight to your period? @cookiemonster1216

You can bleed up to 6wks, but not everyone does. I did. And some people start their period soon after they finish pp bleeding, but it varies. My sis started at 6mo, I did at 10mo. It's different for everyone.

Yep! Mine after the first three weeks was weird. it was like three periods after that. At the beginning of the week it'd be heavy, then by the end it'd be down to a liner. Then the next day...bam! Heavy again. Irritated the heck out of me lol

Lol I totally understand! I'm a tampon user as well, so pads feel so bulky and gross! But hopefully it won't last all six weeks for you :)
