So I named my son Oliver with the clear understanding to EVERYONE that he is not to be called Ollie. Unfortunately my future MIL doesn't understand that and continuously calls him Ollie and it drives me nuts. Does anyone have any advice how to nicely tell her it bothers me and that I'd like her to not call him that? Seriously if she doesn't quit I will probably snap and I don't want to cause and argument.

I will have to try that. I think what bugs me the most is that my fiance doesn't seem to care and when I bring it to his attention he just shrugs it off but he doesn't want my sister calling him baby O.

My mom had the same issue. She named my sister Nicole and told everyone "do NOT call her Nikki". Of course, my grandma (my moms mil) started calling her Nikki. My mom brought her out to lunch, just the two of them, and told her she must stop. She told her that she hates that name, and her name is nicole. She said she told her, "I respect you so much, so please respect me. Please call her by her real name."
