So I found out I was pregnant from dying my hair red and it not sticking. After 2 boxes and 4 times it's got it to where my hair wasn't orange, brown, fire red in blotches which none was the color I was hoping for. My hair is splotched red and brown and I just want it normal again. Help? And btw I know box dye is shit but I'm a broke bitch on a budget and I can't afford a salon trip with bills 💁🏼 so whatever

@mamadev, sometimes what you need to do is pull a section of hair apart and you'll see dry hairs laying in the middle so you can try to comb the color thru to make sure its covering
Yes. I part the bottom and section 4-6 small sections. Very slow and time taking but you get what you put in lol I even had my MIL and fiancé hit the spots that wouldn't take. @mommychina_

Color stripping with kill your hair, if you want to get it over with just do a dark color and then wait awhile, I was trying to go blonde and decided to not listen and strip my hair twice within a week from black and it's so dead I had to cut so much off and I still have to cut more it'll probably be shorter than my shoulder before its healthy
Mine was faded and rustic blonde but I dye it darkest brown and it is sticking still.

Buy a color stripper than dye it a regular box color !

ammonia free is safe. and I'd do black. that's what works best when I'm trying to get a solid color to stick
@mamadev, you should have no problem with your hair taking color then I colored my hair red before and during pregnancy

Nope. I had went from brown to red multiple times and had no problems.
the best red dye you could use to dye hair without bleaching it is Loreal excellence HiColor HiLights for dark hair only
