Hi! I'm pregnant with my first baby (27 weeks) and I work in the restaurant buisness. I've been having serious back pains lately. Any ideas on how to make it easier on my back (and the baby) during the day?
My boss suggested compression socks to help with circulation. When my back and sciatica starts in at work I stop carrying trays and just go for 2 hand items. My coworkers are understanding...hopefully yours are too.
I'm 38 weeks today and my last day serving/hosting in a restaurant last Sunday @37w 2d. My best advice would be to sit down as much as you can and stay hydrated. Don't do anything you feel you can't handle such as lift things and bend over to pick things up. I was lucky enough to have coworkers always volunteer to help me out but don't be shy to ask for assistance. Trust me they'll be more than happy to help out "the baby".
support belt or maternity band will help you out a lot. but I found a support belt helped me the most when I was waiting tables and pregnant. you can usually find them pretty well priced at places like kid to kid and once upon a child, if you have one in your area.
Yall are all so helpful! I went and got a support belt and some Dr. Scholes pads for my shoes and it helped my back tremendously!!!
