When I was doing dance & gymnastics id get them real bad. I remember my coach telling me to speed walk for about 15 minutes to tighten the muscles and then take a hot shower or bath and it loosens them up quickly which is supposed to relieve the pain and muscle spasms.

Aghhh! I'm sorry. Maybe try stretching before bed? If you haven't already done so. It sucks so bad, super uncomfortable.
