39 weeks and still haven't gotten my cervix checked....the fuck

I never had my cervix checked my whole pregnancy until I was in labor. You can always ask though.

will they check this week? I know the doc I had with my first didn't check me until my last week and said it may send me into labor. maybe they don't want to start labor earlier than necessary

It's not stupid. Lots of doctors don't like being invasive for no reason. And just because you have dilated doesn't mean you'll go into labor any sooner and just cause you haven't doesn't mean you won't. It really means NOTHING till you're actually in labor. So don't worry about it

what @thehowtohippie said. my doctor saw no point in it I didn't really either. but you can always ask, I'm sure they'll do it if you're just curious.

I think its stupid . its nothing invasive about having your cervix checked . unless medically proven . 39 weeks? she should be getting checked weekly . since 37 weeks. anything could happen . you shouldn't have to wait until you go into labor . I was just in l&d last night and they asked me am I checked on the regular

I think you're right @thehowtohippie my doctor said that they don't like to do it unless they think it's necessary but I always thought that I would be getting checked regularly at this point specially being on an app like this and seeing all the posts about it. Every doctor has their own practice though so I respect it

@sassymccrum, I was checked due to early contractions I was dilated to a 3 before ever going into labor. My labor was still over 36 hours of active labor so it didn't help at all
