I'm 14weeks today and I have an appointment this Friday with my OB. Would he schedule an ultrasound to see what gender the baby is soon or would he wait till my next appointment which I'll be 18 weeks??

he will probably wait till your 18 weeks! I had to wait till i was 21 weeks! If you have anything that worries the doctor though (pains and such) you might get to know earlier!

My ob waited till I was 16-20 weeks to schedule mine but I ended up finding out a bit earlier through blood work I had to have done.

@lexrexx, I have had bloodwork done multiple times. Do you think he would have the results and not say unless I ask

I had mine done at 17 weeks I've only had two ultrasounds my whole pregnancy so far.

@rainbowbaby2015, I don't know if they actually test for the gender unless the doctor specifically requests for it in your bloodwork. I would ask the next time you go in!

Most likely will have to wait till 18 weeks. They normally do the anatomy scan then and that's when you find out the gender. That's how it was with my first. This one I found out at 16 weeks due to having to have a special ultra sound.

I didn't have mine until 20 weeks. It all depends on your doctor and when the ultrasound tech is available.
