Sounds like he is nervous about your financial ability. Just try to be loving and caring even though that was sorta rude for him to say. if he still acts the same way after the birth then that's when you should be worried..

sometimes if u have had negative experience in child rearing. u tend to not want to care for new children. u can help him over come this with urbown child by not fighting with him. being extra patient when he messes up...and providing ample time for ur child to bond with him.
