I found out the reason I had to have an emergency c-section was because they lost my sons heart beat multiple times and minutes before the c section decision was official, his heart beat flat lined 😢😢😢😭😭😭 what sucks worse is my fiancé knew and didn't tell me and when I found out (from a family friend) he got upset because he thinks 1 if anyone was going to tell me it should have been him or the doctor and 2 he doesn't think knowing does me any good, now I'm even more cautious then I normally am and everything and I mean everything freaks me out 10 million times more now.
I'm sitting here looking at him and thinking about everything me and my fiancé have been through, with 4 miscarriages and he is our miracle baby and we almost lost him to, I would have been more than devastated, I would have checked myself into the hospital, I like to think I can handle a lot of things but I wouldn't have been able to handle that. he is my angel and my miracle, I love him more than words can say, I am so thankful to be a mom

knowing about the miscarriages and your emotional state I think it was a good call on his end not to tell you. You would have panicked and would have caused the baby to loose MORE oxygen and then who knows if he would have made it or not. He gave your baby a chance. thank him and thank your family friend too but let them know it's something you'd rather have waited to hear from your husband or the doctor.

I think you should talk to your doctor to be clear on what happened. It sounds to me like your doc could educate you more. Your fiancé said the heartbeat "flat lined"? I know in movies and stuff that's when it appears that people pass on but I work as a labor nurse and "flat line" isn't a term we use. The heart rate most certainly dropped a few times but this can happen for many reasons! Also if your baby was born healthy and was able to stay with you (as in not got to a neonatal ICU) after birth you should have no reason to worry. Babies have a lot of reserve in the womb and are stronger than we give them credit for! I think your fiancé could have been honest with you but I think since things turned out well he just didn't want to stress you. Your doctor should have been the one to clarify with you why you had an emergency section- not your fiancé!

I told him I'm glad he didn't tell me because I wouldn't have been able to control my emotions and it would have stressed the baby out, just sucks now though because once you know something you can't unknow it, so my overly worried mom head is working over time and stressing everybody out now... I just wish the family friend would have talked to him first before saying anything to me because given the past obviously there was a reason I hadn't been told yet, and the doctors said the same thing that they didn't want to tell me until talking with my fiancé about it because only my fiancé knows my mental state and how I would react @aalyx_xoxo @shaunatb

the family friend used the term flat lined not my fiancé or the doctor, and I think that's what has my fiancé so upset is that the family friend isnt a doctor and shouldn't have told me anything, that the doctor should have, and that it should have been told and explained to me what all happened when I was ready and not a second before, because I definitely wasn't mentally prepared to hear that I almost lost my son @ash2014c and thank you! he was in nicu for 4 days but they said it was as a precaution and I didn't want to ask any further, I was just happy he was alive and healthy.

my husband is the Same way he would rather the doctors tell him everything than me bc I'm very emotional when I'm pregnant I panic and I can't handle things well when I found out I had a uti I kept telling him the baby is not ok we need to go to the er I think I hurt the baby it was everything and when we would go to our doctors appointment they would tell us the baby is good measuring two weeks ahead and do you know i still panic everyday he always tells me everything is good I guess sometimes your biggest protector is your husband your family friend to me needs to know their boundaries

same thing happen with my first child, his heart rate kept dropping.. my mom knew but didn't tell me or my husband.. I was already scared and having anxiety attacks. my mom came to me crying and kissing me, I thought she was just crying because I was about to have my baby. your husband just was looking out for you its a scary situation after you all been through.

my fiancé always joked it was the fact that I'm a woman that makes me paranoid not just the pregnancy lol but I know exactly what you mean because I was a wreck the whole pregnancy everything I did I was like omg I hurt the baby I'm a bad mom, he's going to hate me, and my fiancé literally would have to come pick me up off the floor and talk to me like I was 2 to make me stop crying and freaking out so bad, he had to do this like 2-3 times a week, it was bad, and yes the family friend does, he hasn't spoken to her since, he is pissed, he doesn't understand what possibly made her think it was a good idea to tell me knowing what we've been through in the past about why I needed a c-section @jdrose

after the family friend told me once she left and it was just me and my fiancé I started crying because the reality of the fact that after the 4 miscarriages that we could have lost him too I was so unbelievably thankful he was alive and I wished more than anything at that time that I could erase what she had told me out of my mind, I honestly don't think knowing helps me at all, I'm so glad that my fiancé is here for me through all we've been through and whatever life hands us in the future because once you go through hard times like that, you really see who is there for you and who isn't @iheartriley

I feel like as a friend knowing what my friend has been through in the past instead of stressing her more I would help her husband make sure she stays off her feet that she is fed and hydrated, that she remains upbeat you know just keep a watch on you instead she did the opposite if my husband felt confident to tell you it was so that you could help not harm

well she was in the room when it dropped bad it went from what I was told by her was 154ish to 27 and minutes later they came in said we are going to do the c section, gave me and my fiancé a quick run through about what was going to happen and then I was off to the OR minutes later @jdrose the doctor was so calm to me that I didn't feel I had to stress and even though my fiancé knew why I was being rushed for the c section he was more concerned with 1 making sure me and the baby were ok and 2 making sure that he was as calm as possible for me because I was scared to death honestly
