for anyone who may have been wondering what happened after my post about my son being in the hospital with recurrent fevers of an unknown source. we ended up staying at childrens for 6 days this time. Got to come home this last Tuesday night. They ran multiple tests amd also did a two part full body MRI which he had to be sedated for. They were looking for scary stuff such as infection in bones and tumors and cancer! luckily they found nothing of concern. his working diagnosis when we left the hospital is periodic fever syndrome. he will have to follow up with the infectious disease specialists at children's. Periodic fever syndrome doesn't really have a exact test for it, there are tests they can do to look for markers but they think he is too young for the test to work on him. so his episodes and blood work will just be monitored by childrens until he can get the official diagnosis. thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!
