NEED ADVICE - my friend at 32 weeks lost her mucus plug yesterday & hasn't been able to contact her midwife I've told her to ring labor ward but she wants to speak to midwife first. :/ what do you ladies suggest she do
..So worried for her & the little one 😬
I wudnt possibly just turn up at hospital. They'll have to do something! I went to my doctors and he wasn't sure about mucus plug and sed I needed to speak to midwife. I rang her and she made an emergency appointment for me at the maternity daycare unit. There shud be numbers on her blue notes that she can ring for help/advice. She shouldn't be made to wait if she has genuine concerns and is not well. Hope she gets sorted soon xx
She rang for doctors appointment but couldn't get one she rang adau and they said to ring doctors but she has midwife app tomorrow. Pretty pissed off for her as I saw my midwife last week & she said any concerns to ring these number if you can't get hold of midwife 😔 seems to be going round in circles xx
She's been out shopping & said she needs to sit down every 5 mins getting sweaty & dizzy :/ she's gunner try get doctors app but I said if you can't it's best to ring labour ward, adau at least let someone know. She's been having pains for the past week @sleckenby she was told she was in pre labour last week so that's why I'm abit worried for her trying to get to talk or ring someone at least lol xx
I lost my mucous plug at 19wks n had period-like cramps. went to hospital, they examined me, took Swabs and sent me home. just had to be careful in case of infection and take paracetamol for the pain. I'm 23wks now and been fine :) the plug can regenerate so ur friend may not even have an early delivery. naturally ppl worry but unless there's pain, bleeding, etc I'd stay calm, contact midwife or maternity daycare unit and see wot they recommend from there xx
I would ring labour ward but try not to panic as your plug can regenerate. x
I would contact triage... They are available 24/7!!!! Midwifes useless sometimes ((( when I had strong contractions at 32-33 weeks I went triage straight away. .. They did examine me and even did a test to make sure I am not into labour and possibility to have a baby week time. .. mine was negative... but they kept me few nights anyway. .. xxx @jadecarter
Oh well then she is best to be extra safe. They always say they worry more about a smaller baby then a larger one. The only thing is she shouldn't worry. If it was major it would be listed as a sign to go straight to hospital but it's not so chilling out and waiting till tomorrow should be fine xx
Ok thank you :) I can stop worrying for her now lol she's seeing her midwife tomorrow but kept telling to ring labour ward but she wanted to ring midwife - hopefully she calls her today 😊 she was told she was in pre labour last week baby was 2/5 or 3/5 engaged can't remember apparently her baby is on the tiny scale 😔 @tremzini xx
Plus she's better off getting in touch with whoever will answer if she wants her mind at rest coz trying to get hold of your midwife is like trying to squeeze water from a stone (Not possible) xx
It's okay it usually doesn't mean she's going into labour anytime soon. It's can be days before maybe even weeks. I was slowly losing my plug from 36weeks up until labour at 41weeks. Even had my show at 38 and still nothing I had to be set off. If waters break then she needs to contact someone as you can catch infections x
Oh pheww I thought once you have a show then labour would be hours away lol I'll tell her to contact labour ward if she can't get through .. She left message for her midwife yesterday she can't get hold of her till after half 9 😁 @vik22 xx
altho if can't get hold of midwife o would defo call the labour ward to be on the safe side x
I wud*
