rice cereal is to fill them up , and make them sleep through the night . also for they can gain weight if needed

@alainalovesmommy, ohhhhh. That's probably why he told me there is no reason for it. My daughter is 3 months old (today), and 18lbs. Lol. Weight gain is NOT an issue here. Haha

your daughter is a very healthy and happy baby then lol ☺ i give my daughter oatmeal cereal because her doctor told me i could if i wanted as long as she takes it

I used it because my daughter was not 'getting full' at 3-4 months and was always hungry, so at night I gave her very little to help her stay full. She was gaining weight fine, and at 9 months I don't even use it now, but then she would scream and cry for a bottle and I didn't want to give her bottle after bottle and just make her overly full.

But her doctor also recommended I try that.

I hear mixed reviews about rice cereal too but I use in my baby's bottle only at night to help her stay full & sleep longer

@jennatess, there was news that came out about it stating that there was arsenic in it. I was surprised to hear that especially since ppl have used it for so many years. That's why I don't use it so much.

they also use it for babies with reflux it helps them keep down milk.
