Boyfriend wants to get rid of our dog because she's been protective of myself and the house. It's impossible to get her to go to the bathroom. But that doesn't mean you just get rid of your pet.

She's an Australian Shepard mix! @norcalmomma

She can probably sense the change and is acting out. My Pomeranian mix will be 2 on the 1st. I've had her since she was 8wks old and towards the middle/end of my pregnancy she started pooping inside the house but she's been potty trained since she was 11 weeks old and never went to the bathroom on the floor (other than her pad) until I was pregnant. Now that my son is here she does it every once in a while if I'm not careful. Do you have a crate?

I would get a crate of she's having issues going outside and walk her outside. If she's not including him as family then have him walk her in a confident and friendly manner. She could be sending that you're close to delivery and it's stressing her out. Aussies are extremely smart dogs

@norcalmomma, @mariceladez I do have a crate, but I've had her since she was maybe 3 weeks and she's definitely potty trained. She never goes in the apartment, she lets us know when she has to go outside. She's 2 now, but whenever he takes her outside she will hear something by our stairs and just bolt for our door and runs in the house to make sure I'm okay. I think she senses I'm close to my due date, or she just wants to protect the apartment. But it gets bad when we take her 3 times in an hour just because she won't pee. Sometimes she doesn't poop for a day or two because of it.

I would try talking to your vet. She sounds super high anxiety and you can give her Meds to help. I would ask them about Valerian Root. A lot of people take it to relax and get a better nights sleep. I have seen it do wonders for some dogs. I am a vet assistant and we recommend it all the time.
