It's not a must but I got it. A lot of people in the Bay Area haven't and it's made for a lot of sick babies so The past couple of years. I'm not about to put my baby's life at risk so I made sure to get it!
I got it just as a precaution better safe than sorry but that's my opinion like some of the other moms have said research it first. I have had friends who did and friends who choose not to its totally your call but like @hippiegardenmama said do your research before you get it. @danamarie I live in Santa Cruz and I've heard about all that so I got it too!!
And given how many people are smashed in to the small area of the bay @angelbaby232004 , no way I'm risking my child's life. Just not worth it!! My doc also suggested close family get it since it's so bad up here - not sure if you's did good. I'm just not taking any chances - especially when you're more likely to be struck by lightening than having and adverse reaction to the vaccine!
@danamarie, I totally agree!!! It's so not worth it my doctor was so excited when she brought it up and I told her I wanted it and had already called to make sure I could get it while I was pregnant and I got my flu shot. My fiancé's family have all gotten the tDap shot too so it's nice to know that baby will be safe. I'm definitely not taking that chance with everyone around here not wanting to and if it does happen to go around at least we are vaccinated and all that

I got it. I don't think they MAKE you get it but it hurt like a mother fudger the next day.

I got it and my 7 month old is very healthy...only have a tiny cold a couple weeks ago
