I am curious myself...it seems like everyone is getting induced these days. I am hoping mine come when it is time.

If your past 40 weeks they usually want to induce you because it's potentially harmful for the baby as your amniotic fluid is getting lower the further out you are

@yahuahsdaughter, thats good to know

@mommytoprinceaiden092915, yea but ive seen people being induce right at their due date and even 39 weeks. And being scheduled way in advance when the fluid isnt even low yet. Saying the fluid "might" be low and not even checking.

You don't have to be induced that's your option. Unless you go past 42 weeks.. They do it then because the risks of having a stillborn go up.

@tahtahme, exactly. And from the way a lot of women describe it, its not entirely necessary. I get that in many cases it is but i see a lot of women post at 38 weeks " im getting induced". Without any tests being ran, just doctors speculating.

@anim, so basically if im 40 weeks and my doctor says " lets schedule an induction" i can say no? But i wonder what happens if i refuse? I guess it depends on how adamant she is

@aalyx_xoxo, no homebirth lol. I would be too scared
anim·
Yeah you can completely say no! Then at your 41 week appointment if the baby still hasn't came they will probably make you schedule one for 42 weeks
missing145user·
You can definitely say no. I honestly wouldn't unless I was 42 weeks and nothing, then it's time. I see some women electively getting induced right at 39 weeks and I just wouldn't. being induced scared the crap out of me.

@anim, so far i havent had any complications. No high blood pressure etc ( i know that can change). Im only 36 weeks so who knows, he may come tomorrow lol. I just dont want to feel forced to do induction or surgery unless its the last resort

my doc wanted to induce me but i said i wanted to wait. i gave birth at 42 weeks everything normal and my baby was healthy and born pink. remember that they add two weeks to the due date counting your last period that is why i don't believe in an exact due date.

and inducing always have second effects, makes contractions irregular and even more painful. then if you are not dilated when they say then t he y schedule a c section. its all to get more money and do things faster and more convinient for them.
those moms that go for induccionget tired of waiting and most don't know what they are getting in to or just want the baby out. i don't say its wrong but i prefer to wait. nature knows how things should be and God knows the right time, i don't rush things.
