How come the hospitals don't allow you to eat during labor ?
I think it has to do with aspirating if they were to have to do a emergency csection. I had a unplanned csection due to my sons heart rate dropping and bc of hardware I have in my back I wasn't able to get a epidural and was put to sleep instead.
yea I was able to eat at least 2 meals during my labor. my Dr didnt think I was in full blown labor lol. but I was. I think it helped me strength wise. im,hoping I'll be able to eat again.
Lol I may be completely off but I thought it was because it's hard to control bowel movements when you are in labor
All I got was clear liquids and Popsicles and I threw all that up during labor/my csection so I'm glad I didn't have food lol
I ate pizza and snacks all threw my labor and I swear that's what got me threw over 36 hours of actor labor and 2.5 hours of pushing. If it hadn't of had my fuel I wouldn't have made it threw a natural birth. I would have been way to tired
The high chance of hospitals forcing inductions or c sections, they don't want you to have any adverse reactions to medications. If you have a midwife or a more natural setting they encourage you to eat, food is fuel and you need fuel while what is basically the toughest marathon you'll ever do
So that you don't have anything to throw up if you end up having a c-section
